Model Farm Learning Centre

Model Farm & Learning Centre

Building the future of African agriculture through education, mechanization and sustainable farming practices.

Africa holds the key to ensuring a sustainable global food supply, but achieving this requires a new vision for agriculture — one that combines the expertise of private industry with the knowledge and experience of local farming communities.

TransFarm Africa already possesses deep agricultural expertise and strong local knowledge across the continent. Through strategic investments and development initiatives, the company is strengthening its commitment to Africa’s agricultural transformation.

These initiatives aim to create employment opportunities, improve rural infrastructure, expand farm mechanization, and provide wider access to agricultural education and training.

The Model Farm & Learning Centre

In Kampala, Uganda, TransFarm Africa has developed a 150-hectare (330 acre) Model Farm and Learning Centre where its vision for modern African agriculture is being put into action.

The centre provides education and practical training for farmers at all levels, helping them gain a better understanding of soils, agronomy, crop protection and mechanization techniques that can significantly improve sustainable productivity.

Modern Mechanization

Appropriate farm mechanization is essential to unlocking Africa’s agricultural potential, increasing efficiency and improving crop yields.

Sustainable Productivity

Training focuses on modern agronomic practices that enable farmers to increase productivity while protecting soil health and natural resources.

Equipment & Technology

Farmers gain hands-on experience using modern tractors, harvesting equipment and precision farming technologies.

Training & Education Programs

With Africa’s population expected to reach two billion by 2050, the need for mechanization, training and agricultural knowledge has never been greater.

Small & Medium Farmers

Training courses range from basic agronomy to mechanization practices, helping small and medium scale farmers improve their productivity and farm management capabilities.

Large Scale Producers

Commercial farmers receive advanced training on high specification tractors, harvesting equipment and precision agriculture technologies.

A Vision for the Future of African Agriculture

TransFarm Africa plans to expand the knowledge and infrastructure developed at the Ugandan Model Farm across Africa, helping to establish the “Future Farm” concept throughout the continent.

By partnering with industry stakeholders and educational institutions, the Global Learning Centre aims to empower farmers, improve food production and strengthen rural economies across Africa.

Supporting Future Agricultural Leaders

University students studying agriculture will also gain practical experience at the centre through internships and field programs, working directly with modern farming operations.

Through school programs and community partnerships, TransFarm Africa identifies young talent early and helps develop the next generation of agricultural professionals and farm managers.

By combining education, technology and community engagement, the Model Farm & Learning Centre creates new opportunities for training, employment and sustainable agricultural development.
